Deaf Spectrum also offers the Deaf Audiences’ perspectives and provides consulting on accessibility options to make the art accessible for the Deaf Community to enjoy.
——
Although based out of Toronto, Sage Lovell, owner and founder of Deaf Spectrum, has been serving the country with accessible services and resources in American Sign Language (ASL) since 2015. More recently, Deaf Spectrum has shifted focus to elevating and creating opportunities for Deaf artists and community members within Canada. They are at the forefront of facilitating accessible spaces in the arts and culture sector both online and in person. Their main services include accessible digital productions, event marketing, consultation, and workshops. Primarily, their digital vlog productions involve the translation of materials into ASL, for instance for event promo, exhibition text, call for submissions, and more. This both creates opportunities for ASL interpreters and ensures accessible digital content and communications.
