L’approche systémique, en contrepartie, est beaucoup moins répandue que les systèmes eux-mêmes. Pour Darcy Riddell, l’importance d’adopter ou non une approche systémique n’est pas relative: il s’agit de la seule bonne manière d’observer et d’agir sur le monde tel qu’il est pour parvenir à le changer positivement.
