Radish is an online ordering, delivery and marketing platform that is operated as a cooperative. The online delivery platform market is one that is experiencing astronomical growth, but one that is also marginalizing its core constituents, namely restaurants, deliverers and consumers. The current partnership model that big players operate with restaurants and deliverers is deeply unfavorable for them and is adversely affecting their revenues. In turn, consumers are on the receiving end of offset costs and reduced options. This has the long-term effect of eroding the local restaurant industry, especially for smaller SMEs who do not have the means to adapt to this new reality as easily. Radish distinguishes itself by including all strata of the market in its governance and share structure through its solidarity cooperative nature, thus tying its success to theirs, as opposed to the exploitation of already thin margins in the restaurant industry (< 3%) that other delivery platforms are perpetuating.
