Débuté en 2017, le projet Savoirs Communs du Cinéma cherche à augmenter la découvrabilité des contenus en mettant en place un cadre de gouvernance juridique et documentaire.
Depuis septembre 2017, la Cinémathèque québécoise s’est lancée dans une initiative de création et de diffusion de biens communs relatifs au cinéma québécois et canadien, afin que les données et contenus conservés et produits par l’institution depuis plus de cinquante ans puissent être rendus accessibles et exploitables librement par tous.

Begun in 2017, the Savoirs Communs du Cinéma project seeks to increase the discoverability of content by setting up a legal and documentary governance framework.
In September 2017, the Cinémathèque québécoise launched an initiative dedicated to the creation and exhibition of shared assets related to Quebec and Canadian cinema. The purpose is to ensure that the data and content conserved and produced by the institution for more than 50 years would be available and usable to all.
